May 2025 Round Up
We have had an eventful May at Jack Cotterill Tree Services HQ...
We have welcomed a total of four new staff members to the team - Harry, Luke, Ryan & Laura. It has been great getting to know the new team members and help them settle into their teams. Check out our about us page to see their smiling faces! We continue to be extremely busy with both domestic and commercial work so it has been great to have these new team members on board.
Another highlight for May was our visit to the ArbShow in the glorious sunshine on Friday 16th May. We caught up with a number of friends in the arboriculture world and perused the various stands full of equipment and machinery. All in the gorgeous surroundings of Westonbirt Arboretum!
We continue to work closely with our friends at GreenMech Ltd, whose services and chippers have been an integral part of the business for a number of years. It was great to catch up with the GreenMech team at the ArbShow and see their display of signature green chippers. The team goes above and beyond for their customers: just last week the tensioner spring on our trusty Arb130 snapped. GreenMech sorted us out with the new part and a fix at 7:30AM to ensure we could continue our day without delay. This kind of service is not easy to find and we were grateful for the speedy and faultless service.

May was also a month for giving back. We supported a brilliant fundraising event at The Holdings in Kempsey, an RSPCA rescue and rehoming centre. They held their annual Fun Dog Show, with various classes throughout the day including "Loveliest Lady", "Most Like Its Owner" and "Best Veteran". We were so proud to sponsor the first prizes for all classes in the dog show, which included a goodie bag and a roll up dog bed. It was definitely a difficult job for the judges to choose out of such a wonderful turnout of dogs of all shapes and sizes. We met a few of the very waggy entrants as we were walking round enjoying the craft stalls and BBQ. See their adorable pictures below.

The month of May also saw a new sponsorship by JCTS: We are now proud Shed Sponsors for the Age UK, Bromsgrove Men in Sheds Group. Based in Finstall, this group invites members to learn new skills, meet new people or just share a cuppa’ in a friendly workshop environment. With an aim to tackle loneliness in people of a retirement age, the group welcomes new members so if you know someone local to Bromsgrove who might benefit from joining a group like this, please find the link to their website: https://www.ageuk.org.uk/northworcs/activities-and-events/men-in-sheds/.
